Appreciating our educators
Received this in my e-mail today, couldn't agree more...
YOUR PURPOSE
You're not in front of the class by chance. You're there by choice. It's not just a job; It's a mission. Sometimes it seems like “Mission Impossible,” but it is a mission nevertheless. And there is a great comfort in knowing that you are fulfilling your purpose. You felt the call of education. You prepared yourself. You sought the right place to practice your skills. Now, here you are!
It's good to know that when the days are long, the air conditioner has broken down, the workload is piling up and the department is delaying the request for more support, you still have a purpose. You are someone significant in the total process. You know who you are and why you are here. Come to think of it, who and why are two of the more important questions in life. When you've answered those questions, you're a couple of blocks ahead of anyone else in the human race.
Focus on your mission. Don't be sidetracked by finances, politics, or societal changes. You are called to transfer classic truths to contemporary minds.
Let us share tomorrow's world by what we teach our students today.
Happy Teacher's Day!!
